I am running to bring accessibility, accountability, transparency, and vision to the Dutchess County Clerk’s Office.
The Dutchess County Clerk’s Office may not be the most well-known branch of county government, but it touches residents’ lives in many ways. This is the place people go for countless services, such as land recordings, to get a passport, and to take the Oath of Allegiance to become new citizens of the United States. It is also the place all Dutchess County residents go for DMV services.
To do all of these important jobs well, the Clerk’s office must have excellent administrative and organizational leadership at the top. Unfortunately, there is a lot of room for improvement and I’m ready to bring my skills and experience to make sure government is working better for you.
My public service career spans three decades, caring for adults with intellectual disabilities and helping them to succeed in the face of challenges. I therefore have the experience and passion needed to bring a superior level of customer service to the residents and taxpayers of Dutchess County. It is past time for this office to enter the 21st Century and it would be my honor to shepherd that transition alongside the other dedicated public servants in Dutchess County government.
As your County Clerk, I will pursue three key priorities:
Priorities
Improve DMV services by upgrading the appointment system and website to get your questions and needs answered faster.
Priority 1
#YoucanwithKenya2023
Work within the existing budget to find ways to bring County Clerk services out of the central office and into communities to make them easier to access.
Priority 2
Create a welcoming “front door” for new citizens during the naturalization process to link them to local libraries, businesses and stores, and helpful information to support their integration into their communities.
